Development of Atlas Copco's hydraulic drifters

Since the first generation of hydraulic drifters were launched in 1973, Atlas Copco has continuously improved and introduced new models.

The release dates of main models of hydraulic drifters for face drill rigs are shown in Table 1.

The introduction of new models does not mean to eliminate existing models.For example, COP1238 was launched in 1983 and have been in production for 20 years, during which many new models were launched. Of course, the technical improvement of COP1238 is ongoing. The launch of new models is based on two reasons:

Firstly, new models are launched to meet the requirements of different drilling conditions and different drilling processes, such as tunneling, underground long hole drilling, surface bench drilling, etc.

Secondly, new models are launched due to technical progress. For example, COP1238 is launched to replace COP1038 which is no longer in production; COP1132 is launched in 2005 to replaceCOP1032.
